Welcome to Mustard Seed Faith
ChoicesJohn 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." We are given a choice once more. Man was made in the image of God, with a choice of doing good or evil. What happens to the charming, persuasive Satan? He is condemned also; complete destruction to him and all his followers. Are you a follower of Satan? Is this really what you want, condemnation and destruction rather than life eternal with God the Father who loves us? Only you can make this choice. Think about it!
Because God made man in his own image he was endowed with choices; and the garden came complete with man's ability to choose.
Genesis 2:15-17 "The Lord God took man and put him into the garden of Eden to work it, and to take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man; you are free to eat from any tree, but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge, of good and evil. For when you eat of it you shall surely die."
God would come into the cool of the day to visit this blessed couple. God, being God, surely taught them about life, death, goodness, light, and love.
As we study God's word, an inkling starts to surface as God's great plan. His love for man is so incomparable we cannot possibly understand its depths. God wanted man to live with him in his heavenly home, for eternity. He wanted man's love, willingly given to him, and to become their father by man's choice.
Suddenly the adversary enters the garden. Satan had to have been very persuasive and charming. The first phrases out of his mouth were lies.
Genesis 3:4-5 "You will not surely die, the serpent said to the woman, for God knows that when you eat of the forbidden fruit, your eyes will be opened and you will be like a God, knowing good and evil. Eve chose to eat the fruit and gave some to Adam, and he did eat also."
Sin and unhappiness were born that day. Adam and Ever were driven out of their beautifuul garden, never to glimpse its glories again. God tells Adam in Genesis 3:18
"Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow, you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken, for dust you are, and to dust you will return."
Genesis 3:16 "God says to Eve, I will greatly increase your pain in childbearing; your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you."
