Welcome to Mustard Seed Faith

The Mustard Seed will be a series of articles to encourage you in your faith.

Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground, yet when planted it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade." Mark 4:30-32

As we study the scriptures, we know this is a miraculous seed. If nurtured and watered it springs forth into eternal life.

Where can I purchase this glorious seed you might ask?

It cannot be bought or sold. It is a gift from God. The seed is planted when we acknowledge that God is the One God, who created all things.

God makes this very plain in Romans 1:20

"For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

But, Jesus said that the tiny seed could grow into a tree. How does that happen?

That my friend is your department. You choose to allow it to grow or not to flourish.

And who is this Jesus, who is to tell this parable? It is God's son. John 1:1

"In the beginning was the word (Jesus) and the word was God."

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made. Without him, nothing was made. Therefore we know that Jesus is the son of God.

Man was made in the image of God, with a choice of doing good or evil.

Man was placed in a beautiful garden that took care of all of his needs. God visited with man in the cool of the day and they had fellowship. When man chose to do evil, God could no longer look at him or commune with him. Man was seperated from his God through his choices.

Jesus was sent to earth to rescue fallen man. He came as a baby born to a virgin. He grew to manhood without sinning. Jesus represented a loving God. He healed the sick, made the lame to walk, the blind to see. He drove evil spirits out of the afflicted. Jesus wanted to show man how God loves them and how beautiful and full of life and light, his ways are.

But, man loved darkness and evil. They arrested Jesus, gave him a false trial, beat and humiliated him, and hung him on a cross to die.

Jesus became a sin offering for us all. His blood flowing from his wounds washed our sins away. God could once more have fellowship with us, his beloved children. John 3:16 says:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish, but have eternal life."

To make our little miraculous seed to sprout into great branches, we must shoose to believe that Jesus is God's Son, and that he died for us. Our sins, which are many, are forgiven, for they are covered by Jesus' blood.

After three days, Jesus arose from the dead, into eternal life. He witnessed to many before he returned to Father God. He waits for us to join him in glory

There is a great joy and blessing in knowing Jesus. To be able to praise him and love him for all he has done. This belief can move mountains in your life.

These are the seeds of faith and the knowledge of how to make them grow into a great tree that gives shade or comfort, or knowledge (if you will) to others, who are seeking the seed of faith also.
